Uk Dub Story

The UK Dub scene is the underground of underground music cultures. It is a scene that is thriving more than ever, despite a total lack of mainstream media coverage and the general decline of the mass music industry. The multitude of dub sessions across Europe feature the speakers of Sound System legends Jah Shaka, Iration Steppas & Aba-Shanti-I stacked to the ceiling, where you’ll find crowds (often in excess of 1000) head-nodding and skanking all night to the bass at events such as London’s ‘University of Dub’, Leeds’ ‘Subdub’ or Paris ‘Dub Central’. Vibronics have been at the very heart of UK Dub since the mid 1990’s and this new album ‘UK Dub Story’ captures the spirit of British dub in the 21st century. It features all the trademark heavy, heavy basslines, flying echoes, wild sound effects and militant drumming synonymous with the scene, but ‘UK Dub Story’ also shows how this music is a totally current sound, appealing to fans of traditional Jamaican Reggae, Dubstep, Drum & Bass, World Music or Electronica alike. The album features guest vocals from Mad Professor MC legend Macka.B as well as new talents Jah Marnyah & Echo Ranks, alongside classically uplifting instrumental dub tracks. Vibronics produce, remix, perform and release dub music from the base in Leicester, UK. They also run their own SCOOPS label and recording studio where they are renowned for continually pushing the boundaries of their beloved Dub genre. Vibronics have worked with artists as diverse as Big Youth, Fun Lovin’ Criminals, Zion Train, Pama International and the Warsaw Village Band. To promote this release Vibronics will be performing live across the UK & Europe, so look out for the future sound of dub heading your way in 2008.
